The club from Albuquerque was founded in 2018and participated in the 2019 USL Championship where they finished 10th in the league, securing a play-in spot for the postseason tournament. The newly formed club partnered with Meow Wolf, a world renowned art collective based in Santa Fe which represents New Mexico culture. The buzz around the new team from the state of New Mexico was clear to see, as the side topped the league for the average home attendances.
